Energy Efficiency as a Job Creator in Arkansas

In a report released in April, 2010, or eight months before the Arkansas Public Service Commission established the state’s three-year Energy Efficiency Resource Standard, researchers at Duke University and the Georgia Institute of Technology found Arkansas ranked among the nation’s top 15 states in energy consumption. The report finds that energy efficiency programs would result in annual increased employment in the state of 8,700 workers by 2020.
